What has Obama done? Well…

“Without proper access to clean water, community members often suffer from nutritional deficiencies and waterborne diseases. For millions of people living in developing countries like Togo, these conditions are everyday realities that inhibit their ability to work, pursue an education or raise a family. Access to clean water is not only the basis of reducing poverty and illness; it is the foundation of a productive and fully functioning community.”

So, 2011 had a record number of enacted abortion restrictions in the United States, but according to the Guttmacher Institute, we’re most likely in for another hefty blow in 2012. In the first half of this year, states have already enacted 39 abortion restrictions (small compared to last year’s 80 by this time, but very big compared to years prior to 2011). This also affect a very high percentage of the country’s reproductive age women, 55% of whom reside in one of the 26 states labeled as “hostile” towards abortion.
Once you’ve had your moment of silence for human decency/reproductive health/the general direction of the country, let’s all also remember the very convincing evidence to support the argument that countries which enact greater restrictions on abortion and access to reproductive healthcare have, uh, way higher abortion rates and those abortions are far more dangerous.
Check out Guttmacher’s findings on the legislative status of reproductive health this far into 2012.

This was said by Rep. David Dreier, a Republican from California. Not some random person on a hate-talk radio show. But a United States Congressman.

So if you’re from California you know what to do. Register, Vote & get rid of this jerk!

Hey, remember when Republicans were fear-mongering with “death panels”? This is the definition of a death panel.

Gov. Jay Nixon (D-MO) vetoed a bill that would have allowed employers or health insurance providers to stop offering coverage for contraception, abortion, or sterilization if doing so violated their religious or moral convictions. The governor’s decision sets up a potential conflict with the Republican-dominated legislature that approved the bill by wide margins; the bill’s sponsor, state Sen. John Lamping (R), said he will work to override the veto in September. Nixon said he stopped the bill because “we want families making these decisions — not insurance companies.

It’s about Obama’s proposal that the marginal tax rate on income over $400,000 should rise from 35% to 39.6%. That’s your aggrievement. That’s your entitlement. That’s your socialism. That’s your class warfare. An increase in the top marginal tax rate of 4.6 percentage points. Four. Point. Six. This is what America’s most prosperous citizens are up in arms about. This is why Barack Obama is an enemy of capitalism. These are the spiteful shackles he proposes to use to subjugate America’s engines of job creation. It’s the reason America’s wealthiest citizens are so frightened about the future of their country. 4.6 percentage points. Just let that sink in.

Today, the House Agriculture Committee approved the final version of the 2012 farm bill, complete with its draconian cuts for families struggling to put food on the table. The proposed bill cuts $35 billion from the federal food and nutrition budget, about $16.5 billion of which come from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — more commonly known as SNAP or food stamps.
